Just want to test Rudder without worrying about a full installation? Check out our Vagrant configuration and have a virtual machine running Rudder in a few minutes and some simple commands.

  1. Install Virtualbox, an open source virtualization tool, if you haven’t already
  2. Install Vagrant, a simple tool to create virtual machines on the fly, if you haven’t already
  3. Run this:
    git clone
     && cd rudder-vagrant
  4. Run this command (this may take some time, as it will download the Ubuntu box if need, then download and install Rudder):
    vagrant up

You should now have a Rudder server up and running on your local machine. Check it out on https://localhost:8081/ (you will have to accept the self-signed certificate). The default user is “admin” and his password is “admin”.
