Description

The display of the inventory and the classification of fields in the search engine should use same scheme.

Some changes on both sides

  1. Node summary
  2. Hardware
    1. General
    2. Bios
    3. Controllers
    4. Memory
    5. Port
    6. Processor
    7. Slot
    8. Sound
    9. Storage
    10. Video
  3. File systems
  4. Network Interfaces
  5. Software

That is :

In the display of Inventory :

  1. File systems should be a new tab (instead of a part of Hardware)

In the search engine

  1. s/Node/Node Summary/
  2. File Systems, Network Interface, Software on the same level
  3. use the same vocabulary as for display

Is it possible to have the vocabulary defined only in one place and used on both places ?

--------
<themrc> phttps://ci.normation.com/jenkins/job/rudder-doc/lastSuccessfulBuild/artifact/html/rudder-doc.html#_asset_management_2

Agreed.

Also, the following fields in hardware > general should be moved to "node summary" if they are not already there, as they are not hardware related:
  • Hostname
  • Complete OS name
  • Distribution
  • Kernel version
  • Service Pack
  • Description
  • Administrator account
  • Local accounts

In fact, the "general" tab content should be fully moved to "node summary", and the tab removed.

If we find latter that we want a "hardware general" tab to put other information, we could revive it.
