Hi folk,
On 6 and 7 February 2017, Configuration Management Camp is taking place
in Gent, Belgium. This event brings together specialists and newcomers
alike that are interested in config management generally or specifically
involved in a given community.
Several people on this list have encouraged me to get as many people
together as possible at this event from the Rudder community, so we can
chat amongst ourselves about Rudder, how we use it, what we want next,
etc (as well as talking to others around the event, of course).
Now is the time to make this happen! The Call For Proposals is now open.
Given enough proposals about Rudder (and/or ncf), we can have our own
room and a nice discussion space.
Please submit a talk, any topics related to configuration management in
general or Rudder in particular, or your specific use of Rudder will be
great. Remember, what you do day to day may seem obvious to you, but
others are very keen to hear about it, and it will always make a great
basis for discussions.
A few ideas:
* Feedback talk: look at my Rudder setup, what I do with it, how I
worked around hard issues
* Future talk: what I'd like to do with Rudder or see in Rudder
* Rant talk: the stuff that didn't work well and needs to be made easier
* Pro tips talk: how you make life easier with Rudder, what hacks
you've set up to improve your setup
* The learning process: how you went from no automation to Rudder, or
how you learnt yourself or taught your colleagues about using Rudder
* ncf hacks: what do you use ncf for and/or how did you extend it
Anything goes, of course!
I'll also make sure a few folk from the development team at Normation
come and show off the latest and greatest features (Rudder 4.0 and 4.1
will be published by then) and an overview of the forthcoming roadmap.

Feel free to reach out if you need a hand submitting or feedback on your
idea - I'm happy to help.
Jonathan
