[rudder-users] Heads up: 2.11.9 and 3.0.3 released yesterday included a bug preventing use of Technique editor - update now

Hello dear community,

Yesterday's Rudder 2.11.9 and 3.0.3 releases included a version of the 
ncf package that is subject to bug #6433 
<http://www.rudder-project.org/redmine/issues/6433> which prevents the 
use of 'Technique editor' (also known as 'ncf builder').

This problem only affects users that have installed or updated to one of 
these versions between their release yesterday at 10:00 CET and 
yesterday at 19:00 CET. The problem is now fixed, and all upgrades and 
new installations will not be affected - you can proceed to upgrade and 
install without concern.

To check if you are affected, look at the version number of the ncf 
package installed on your Rudder server (with 'rpm -qa ncf' or 'dpkg -l 
ncf'). If you have version 20150320hhmm then you need to upgrade this 
package. If you have any other version, you are not concerned.


To update your ncf package and fix this problem:

  * Debian/Ubuntu type systems:

    apt-get update
    apt-get install ncf

  * RHEL/CentOS type systems:

    yum update ncf

  * SLES systems:

    zypper refresh
    zypper update ncf

After this operation, your ncf package version should be 20150324hhmm. 
No further operations are required, you will be able to use the 
'Technique editor' without trouble.
